We are entirely dependant on private sponsorship for all our projects and we can only help the needy in relation to our monthly income. We do not have a set amount that we ask you to donate and leave this entirely for you to decide based on what you feel you can afford. Remember £1.00 per week can mean the difference between life and death and most of our sponsors donate (by standing order) between £10 and £20 per month. In addition those of you who are U.K. taxpayers can, by signing the Gift Aid form, enable us to claim a further 28 pence in the pound from the Inland Revenue.
Blank Standing Order forms and Gift Aid forms can be obtained from our office. Most sponsors donate to the overall running of the charity but some of you may wish to sponsor a particular project or specific item/s.
The following are typical of our costs:
£112.00 per month to run a class for 10 pupils using a qualified teacher & including all equipment, stationery, daily transport & a cooked lunch.
£3.50 will purchase 100 oranges – fruit is an essential part of any diet but unaffordable by the street children the poor and the sick.
A pair of ‘flip-flop’ sandals cost just 65 pence. Few children have footwear and many suffer severe burns & lacerations.
Complete running costs for the Hospice with 10 children - £500 per month. This includes nurses, housekeeper/cook, medicines & medical supplies, food, teaching & recreational facilities.
An electric water purifier – from £85 - £150 fully installed depending on output.
£8.00 per month will ensure a child has formal education including payment for uniform, books and bus fares. Sponsors will receive a photo of the child they sponsor and copies of their school reports. Further details on request.
We also have a 'Gift Certificate' scheme whereby you can make donations in lieu of Christmas or Birthday presents. These can be purchased from £10 or can be tailored to donate a particular article (from our needs list) or sponsor an event such as a picnic or birthday party.
We will be pleased to send a copy of our needs list upon request.
